After Months of Voting, the Results Are In!

For the past few months, the Co-op Cares Project encouraged members of Co-op Services Credit Union to give back to the community. During this time, anyone who opened a new checking account with the credit union would receive $100 dollars. If they needed the money, they could keep it, or they could opt to donate funds to several local charities within our community.

At the same time, Co-op Services partnered with eight local charities who were featured on our Project 100 site. For three months, all Project 100 site visitors were asked to vote for their favorite charity. The top three charities with the most votes will each receive one-third of all donations collected.

Well, it’s official. Three lucky charities will be benefiting from your participation and your vote! The winning charities are:

Gleaners Community Food Bank
HAVEN
Second Chance at Life

Thank you again to all of our charities, voters and members for participating in the Co-op Cares Project. To learn more about each of the eight charities involved, simply visit any of the links below.

Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan

It all started with a dream and an idea. The dream was that no one should go hungry while food was going to waste. The idea was to create a distribution network that would provide local non-profit agencies with a low cost, reliable source of food for hungry people. Gleaners is a vital link between available food and those who need it most. Gleaners collects, warehouses, repacks and distributes many millions of pounds of food for over 400 local partners. Hunger affects people from all walks of life. Hear from those whose lives have been touched by hunger. Visit our website at www.gcfb.org
